At Ruck n Roam, we aim to provide clear and concise information. Here are some frequently asked questions we receive about our services and the process of relocating to Australia.
1. What if I don't like my placement
You’re never locked in. If the placement isn’t right for you, you’re free to leave at any time.
If you decide to end it early, there’s a £99 early cancellation fee, which covers us sourcing you a replacement placement so you still get value from the service.
2. Do I have to stay with the employer provided?
Not at all. Your rugby always comes first.While work is part of making the move viable, staying with your chosen club and enjoying your rugby is what we value most. If your work situation changes, we’ll support you where we can.
3. Will I be insured?
Insurance isn’t included in your package, and Australia doesn’t have free healthcare.That said, we’ll guide you toward the right insurance options so you’re properly covered before you go — and we’re always happy to sense-check what you choose.
4. What if I get injured and have to end my season early?
Injuries happen - and we won’t disappear if they do.
We’ll support you with whatever decision you make next, including the option to defer your placement to a future season when you’re ready to go agai
5. What level of rugby are the placements?
Placements range across competitive amateur and semi-competitive clubs.
We take your playing background, experience, and goals into account to make sure the standard is right for you — not just filling a spot.
6. Can I choose where in Australia I go?
You can absolutely tell us your preferences, and we’ll always try to match them.
That said, flexibility helps. Sometimes the best rugby experience comes from places people hadn’t initially considered.
7. How long does the process take?
Every case is slightly different, but once you’re signed up and we have your details, placements usually move quickly.
We’ll keep you updated at every stage so you’re never left guessing what’s happening.
8. What support do I get once I’m out there?
You’re not just handed a contact and left to it.
We stay in touch, check in with you, and remain available if anything changes or you need advice during your time in Australia.
9. Is this a one-off fee or a subscription?
All plans are one-off payments and are valid for one placement.
There are no hidden renewals. You pay once, and we focus on getting your move right.
