Rugby at Paradise RUFC

Paradise RUFC is a community-driven rugby club competing in the Gold Coast & District Rugby Union (GCDRU) competition. The club fields two senior men’s teams, with the 1st XV playing in GCDRU Level 1 and a Development XV competing in Level 2.

 

The focus at Paradise is competitive rugby without losing the social side of the game. Players range from experienced campaigners to first-time overseas movers, with a strong culture of backing each other both on and off the pitch.

Rugby & Training

  • In-season training: Tuesday & Thursday evenings

  • Structured sessions focused on set-piece, conditioning, and game awareness

  • Strength & conditioning support available through a partnered local gym

  • Matchday physio support during the season

Life Beyond Rugby

Paradise RUFC prides itself on its off-field culture:

  • Regular team socials and club nights

  • Post-match events with sponsors and supporters

  • Surf mornings, recovery swims, and group gym sessions

  • End-of-season awards night and presentation dinner

Pre-Season & Tours

Pre-season runs from January through March, including:

  • Weekly beach conditioning sessions

  • Pre-season trial matches across South East Queensland

  • An annual pre-season tour (recent destinations include Brisbane and Northern NSW)

  • Team camp weekends combining rugby, fitness, and bonding activities

Qualified plumbers will be able to work closely with a handful of our own players! A minimum of 35 hours a week are available with potential to work weekends, outside of matchday

Work closely in the community, with our main sponsor providing employment. Right in the heart of town, work at one of the busiest bars around, fitted to your rugby schedule. Experience prefered and accomodation provided 

Learn a true Aussie trade. No experience required, just a willingness to learn and work with other backpackers. A willingness to commute to training and matches is vital.
